Local Property Tax

Revenue has provided this interactive valuation guide to help you to determine the market value of your property. This tool provides an estimated average valuation band for residential properties in each area. It does not reflect a specific market value for any individual property in that area.

Local Property Tax is a self-assessed tax. You are responsible for determining your property's market value and this tool is a guide only.

The average valuation band indicated on this tool for your area may not reflect your property's value. You should consider the specifics of your own property in comparison to other properties in your area. Your property may have unique features that you should take into account. For example, your property may be smaller or larger than the average for the area.

You can also refer to other information sources to guide you in making your self-assessment.

The map displays estimated average property valuation bands in different parts of the country. The map is divided into "Small Areas". These are areas that have been compiled by the National Institute of Regional and Spatial Analysis on behalf of Ordnance Survey Ireland in consultation with Central Statistics Office. There are about 18,600 Small Areas in Ireland, usually with 50 to 200 properties in each.

Instructions

1. Use the map controls to zoom in further as required to a smaller area.
2. Click on this area of the map to see the average property valuation band for your area.

You can use the "Highlight Bands" slider on the top right of the screen to make the underlying map details more or less visible.

You can also use the map controls to move to a different area of the country to display average property valuation bands in that area.
